well i wish i could say i kept up with posting things but ive mainly just have been watching others amazing art these past few years on DA.
its not that i havent created things over the years but my submissions are largely ignored in the sea of posts on this site. i would say safely that majority of my views likes and such comes from people that see a new submission for the 3-5 minutes it doesn't get washed away from the other thousands happening everyday.
anyways whatcha gonna do this website has largely been a popularity contest from day 1.

I gotta agree with you hon.

How much attention you will get is only up to how much time you're gonna spend promoting yourself. Many people here with absolutely no skill are far more popular than some professionals, only because they update their works in various groups, take part in contests, caress their influential friends, and spam others with favs, comments and llamas. How much some of the deviants do it, slightly frightens me.

For 4 years I've been keeping my watch list neat and clear, to be able to see all the works I was interested in. I'm watching those people for a reason, right? Then I discovered what the mysterious dA 'groups' were, joined several of them and was crushed by the amount of notification spam I was getting. Damn, unwatched them ASAP.

I'm still wondering, though, how many of my watchers have my submitions dispersed somewhere in the multitude of other works they're not even taking a glimpse at...

Don't worry man - do your thing, give no attention to this dA madness and be happy :) It will spare you a lot of unnecessary disappointment.
